Biodiesel - BIOPA - Pardubice

BIOPA consist of:

1. The group of scientific-research workers of the Department of Physical Chemistry, Faculty of Chemical Technology, University of Pardubice, Czech Republic, which is engaged in:

• The research of physical and chemical processes leading to the conversion of initial components to MERO and the raw GP up to the glycerol of medicinal quality.

• The detailed analysis of raw materials, interproducts and products connected with the operations described in the previous point.

- The target of both above mentioned activities is the permanent improvement of the technological procedure of the MERO production: Simultaneously, maximum yield of energy included in the rape (vegetable) oil, minimum production costs and all requirements of the Czech and European Standards have to be reached.

2. The engineering firm KOROPECKÝ Pardubice® , which ensures the practical realisation of the research results and is the bearer of know - how of the developed technological processes towards the investors and cooperating organisations.

BIOPA has:

1. Already more than ten years of experience in the research and realisation of the production units of MERO, using alkaline catalysis by potassium hydroxide (KOH). Thanks to happy combination of professionals in their branches, i.e. scientific-research group of physical chemists and experts in chemical engineering and automatization not only the theory of this very complicated and in its whole course heterogeneous reaction could be mastered and three original technological procedures have been patented, but mainly, these patents were applied in 5 from 18 official production units of MERO in the Czech Republic.

2. The solved procedures for treatment of glycerol phase (GP) up to the glycerol of medicinal quality and the know - how for the realisation of the production apparatus.
